Much of the best news from the Consumer Electronics Show this year came from the OLED world. Sony and Panasonic are both poised to release OLED displays into the North American market this year, which – in addition to LG – means there are now three upper-tier manufacturers pushing the quality and price points in the right direction.
Sony have re-imagined the style of the modern television with a kick-stand style pedestal for placement on top of a piece of furniture. The Japanese manufacturer has also eliminated the speaker from the chassis and use the whole screen surface to radiate sound to the listening position – crazy! This – along with Sony’s amazing cable management system – gives the TV the cleanest look possible.
We’re are super excited to see what and OLED display looks like when fed with Sony’s legendary video processor, running an HDR signal.
